Based in Portland, Oregon he performs his own music under the name Town Rill, and is a sought-after mandolinist and guitarist. Blues, folk, and spirituals make up most of his meals. Fingerpicking and grinning faces dominate his dreams. A tenacious homebody, and captain of a car his own age, Birger doesn't tour very often. But those fortunate enough to hear him in person will tell you he is his own nitch, and a great one at that.
